Karen Codner
November 15, 1955 - October 31, 2014
A consummate rescuer, a selfless volunteer, a dedicated foster, and most of all – our friend!
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of this amazing woman that was this, and so much more to all who had the honor of knowing her.
Karen and her family's commitment to our organization welcomed over a dozen puppies into their home throughout the past year alone.
Despite fighting breast cancer for many years, Karen's passion for loving and raising rescued puppies never wavered.
Karen suited up and showed up day after day with a smile and spirit that was contagious.
While rescue was just a small part of this amazing woman, her impact on our organization and the canine and human lives she touched will be felt forever.
We are better people and better rescuers because of Karen.
Our hearts and prayers surround her family and partner in this very difficult time and we ask that you lift these people up with us.
Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. is committed to honoring her work and has established the Karen's Legacy Fund. This fund will serve to support our efforts in rescuing and rehoming, abandoned and neglected puppies and carrying on the love Karen brought to the lives of so many furry babies.
Karen we love you, we honor you, and miss you our friend!
