Thank you for your donation

Thank you for remembering Texas Sporting Breed Rescue, Inc. (TSBR) in your giving. TSBR is wholly dependent upon the gifts and support needed through our friends like you. We are deeply thankful for your partnership and count you as a true co-laborer on our mission.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride for Texas Sporting Breed Rescue (TSBR). The landscape for rescue organizations has changed dramatically since the pandemic. Still, none more so than 2024, posing significant financial challenges, the most severe since our establishment in 2011.

Our communities are in crisis.

The average family can’t afford necessities, including food for their beloved animals. TSBR strives to keep dogs with their families and out of shelters.

  • The cost of dog food has increased by approximately 32% in the past 12 months, outpacing general inflation rates, which hovered around 8%.
  • TSBR’s 2024 increase in food costs alone exceeds $5,000.
  • In the last 30 days, TSBR has received 41 requests for help with food to prevent the surrender of sporting breeds to shelters. The TSBR food pantry is EMPTY. Our volunteers have personally purchased food to help owners care for and keep dogs they love.
  • From 2011 to 2024, the cost of essential veterinary services has risen by approximately 76% (29.8% from 2019 to 2023 ), and the “rescue discount” offered by some clinics has continued to decrease due to general economic inflation affecting operational costs in veterinary practices.
  • In 2011, the average monthly cost for an individual dose of heartworm prevention was around $5 to $10. Today, the price ranges from $8 to $15.

Your donation directly impacts our medical care, including essential services like spaying/neutering, vaccinations, heartworm prevention, critical veterinary care - and YES food.

Many dogs that enter our program require extensive treatments, such as heartworm treatment, surgeries, and other emergency care. Rising costs have significantly strained our resources and made meeting their needs increasingly challenging without your continued support.

TSBR is a federally recognized 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. As allowed by law, all gifts to our organization are tax-deductible.
