he stole our heartsApril 11, 2007 - May 18, 2014Dobbs came to TSBR from a hunting ranch, where he spent the first almost 7 years as a professional hunting dog. Moving to a small house in the suburbs might have been overwhelming for many dogs...but Dobbs never missed a beat - fast forward through only a month and he mastered the dog door, slept in his open door crate, and had free run of the home while his foster was away. Dobbs learned, and LOVED to play ball with Joe the cocker spaniel; his foster dog-sister Lannie Sue had a dog crush on him, and he filled "momma's" heart with his goofy "handsome dog" ways. Sadly, we lost our beloved Dobbs on Sunday, May 18th to liver failure. Dobbs was loved by all who knew him and lived out his last days with amazing dignity.

Dobbs was the first dog rescued under the Meatball Memorial Fund in honor of our beloved ambassadog. Contributions provide funds to help save last call and special needs Black Labrador Retrievers. Help us help the next deserving dog get a chance to be loved like Dobbs! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
