Stoli is a beautiful chocolate male Labrador Retriever. His estimated age is 3 ½ years. His foster mom reports: Stoli came to me in mid-February extremely emaciated; so much so that you could place your fingers between his ribs and his hip bones were protruding. In addition, he was Heartworm positive. Several rescue groups passed on this boy most likely due to his condition. In addition, to his less than stellar physical condition he was pretty frightened and skittish at first. He has come a long way in the last month while he recovered from his heartworm treatment. He now seeks me out for attention, has started to interact and play with other dogs, and chew on appropriate dog bones. Stoli does not get on furniture or the human bed. He does not require a crate. He sleeps soundly through the night on a dog bed. He is housebroken and will go to the door when he needs to go outside and do his "business." Stoli loves to eat! His only negative behavior is that he LOVES to "counter surf." If he can reach it, he will eat it. If you are walking through the house with food in your hands, he may try to take if from you. Stoli wants to be loved and be a great companion to you! It took several days before I saw his tail wag. He now seeks me out for attention and follows me around the house and out in the yard. He used to cower when I reached down to pet his head but no longer does that. He is a very “soft” dog. While he is fine with all types of people (men, women, children) he would probably do best in a home with older children (above the age of 8).
