Foster #4 - Panda We have had several dogs come and go. Some have had a hard life and their stories make you distrust humanity, others are just happy as they can be. Regardless of their background, each of them have a story to tell and watching them open up despite their past makes every minute of fostering worth it. The smile they put on our face, and the warm welcome they give us makes me believe the good in the world. Panda, english pointer and our newest foster, has had a rough start in life and therefore is very hesitant in trusting people. Her backstory is unknown since she was found in a shelter. The day Panda came to our home, she ran into our closet and found her safe place. She didn’t interact much with our other dogs and had a look of constant fear. She would cower when we came close or sudden movements. Since coming into our home, Panda has opened up. Her eyes are beginning to sparkle, her tail wags when she sees us, and she likes playing with toys! Panda enjoys being outside with the other dogs and soaking in the sun, but her trust issues makes her want to hide in small spaces, like under the deck. When she is inside the house, she stays around her crate or in the closet. She LOVES pets and human contact, makes her feel safe, and is fully crate and potty trained. She is great with other pets and humans big and small. Panda has a long way to go but I know when she decides to trust you and let you in, there is no going back. She loves with all her little heart and it’s written all over her precious face. This sweet girl needs a loving home where she can get plenty of pets and can learn to trust people again.
